1960 Austin-Healey Sprite
The Mk 1 Sprite comes from the model's initial 3-year production run, the most distinctive version of Austin-Healey's minimalist sports car. This "Frogeye" Sprite retains much of the original charm, but benefits from many thoughtful improvements. It's powered by a 1275cc 4 cylinder engine paired with the stronger 4-speed "ribcase" manual gearbox driving the rear wheels.
The heavy duty suspension, sway bar, and front disc brakes add to the drivability, while the Minilite wheels, Iris Blue paint, and refurbished interior maintain a period correct look for the British icon. With upgrades providing increases in power and dynamics, this Sprite is considerably more capable and enjoyable on a spirited drive. Reliability enhancements include a new aluminum radiator, water pump, 6-blade fan, thermostat, spark plugs, and an electronic tachometer.
This 1960 Sprite is offered with the a Haynes repair manual, spare parts, additional spoke wheels, and a clean California title. The white vinyl top includes all new components, and the side curtains retain the original frame, but with new plexiglass windows and weather seals. Recent maintenance includes carburetor tuning, valve lash adjustment, and changing all fluids. Additional photos and details are available upon request.
